When Wally Orfield was 14, he used the money he had saved up from his paper route and bought his first house for $1000. He spent the next two summers fixing it up and, after a year and a half, he sold it for $6000. So began his love of remodeling.
He pursued his career by enrolling in the Architecture program at the University of Minnesota and paid for his education by remodeling houses in his spare time. After he graduated in the mid 70’s, he bought old apartment buildings and hotels and redesigned, gutted, and renovated them as condominiums. He had great success as a condo developer until the market dried up in the mid 80s. He then turned back to residential remodeling and established Orfield Remodeling, Inc.

Over the years, Orfield Remodeling, Inc. has earned an excellent reputation
around the Twin Cities. Customers express a high degree of satisfaction
with our projects and many come back for additional projects.
Recently, Orfield Remodeling, Inc. was acknowledged as one of the top 50 remodeling companies in the nation by Remodeling Magazine (May 2003). To earn its current status, Orfield Remodeling, Inc. has done a number of things very well over the years:

- Wally Orfield is the company President and chief designer.
- Patty Orfield is the company Vice President.
- Rachael Marggraf joined the company in August of 2002 as Office Manager and is also active in sales and marketing. Her background includes a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management and several years in sales.
- Orfield Remodeling, Inc.’s permanent field staff includes Craig Swanson, who has worked with us for 28 years as a carpenter and is extremely skilled in all aspects of residential remodeling.
- Lonny Murray, also an excellent carpenter, has worked for us for 3 years.
- We are excited and proud to introduce Bob Kalseim as a recent
addition to our Production team as Production Manager. Bob has
over 26 years
of practical hands on experience in the remodeling industry.
